FXFOWLE's proposal for the architectural design of a 1-mile long and 673-feet tall bridge in Dubai was selected by the country's Roads & Transport Authority in a major international design competition. The firm's winning bridge design is poised to join five existing Dubai Creek crossings (four bridges and one tunnel), further advancing the infrastructure and transportation initiatives in Dubai. La oficina FX FOWLE, colaboradora de Renzo Piano en el edificio del New York Times, se acaba de adjudicar el concurso para este nuevo puente en Dubai, el 6to atravieso que conecta ambos lados de la ciudad sobre el canal Dubai, sumándose a cuatro puentes y un túnel.
El puente tendrá un largo de 1.7 km y un alto de 204 metros. Su costó es de USD$817 millones y su construcción se iniciará en marzo de este año, por lo que debiera estar listo para el 2012.
